Good, I agree. Back to MH. Chomping and throwing up the OM Landshark is pretty tame, compared to athletes beating up a fellow student, robbery and other buffoonery, would you not agree?

People who lose to him and haters that are gonna hate, will never accept/understand the fact that MH enjoys being a showman and getting into players (and fans) heads. And it works. Lol!!!
Bring it on…. that is what he wants.

If a player does the “chomp” in another player’s face, to me, that would be taunting. But I have no problem with a player doing that in football or basketball in order to wind up the crowd (again, so long as it’s not being done directly in another player’s face). That’s why you’ll find no mention of Henderson’s chomp in the story above. I had no problem with it, though when added to his long list of in-your-face taunts and gestures, it’s not surprising that one act got as much attention as it did.

Just my take, but I’ve seen players play to the crowd before. What I haven’t seen is a player who takes taunting to the lengths that Henderson does.

John, generic question. Not a question about OM’s Henderson. Just not sure where to put it.

If any team does the Gator chomp, should that be a technical foul because it is taunting?
Does that also mean UF should get a technical if they do the chomp?

Henderson is awesome to watch I hope he gets more publicity for his game than his behavior although I think it is very funny how everybody hates on him, I mean it is just a game.

@bigreb It’s not and shouldn’t be against the rules to have fun and celebrate winning. That’s the whole point of sports. Hitting someone and gator-chomping Florida fans are two very different things. And a defensive lawyer would utter those words, because yes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with anything Henderson has done.

That’s a nonsense response.

If you read this site on a regular basis you’d know a) that I’ve said 1000 times that Henderson would be loved by whatever fanbase he played for and b) I get ripped repeatedly for suggesting fans would support their own guys no matter what.

When cocky Ty Law ran back an interception for the Patriots — a team I’ve pulled for since the 70s — in a Super Bowl, my thought was: “Why did it have to be him?” I’m NOT the guy who looks the other way on classless behavior just because someone is showboating in my favorite team’s uniform. In fact, that’s the A-1 thing I hate most about college sports — fans who defend their team for doing X but rip another team for doing the exact same thing.

I played basketball in high school and there was a player like that playing for another school. The star of our team would always get distracted and have a bad game against them. They’d beat us even though I thought we were better. It seems to be a good strategy.

I think a lot more people watch Ole Miss games just to see him play, whether they like him or not. It reminds me of pro wrestling. Would anyone actually watch pro wrestling if the wrestlers didn’t have enormous egos and taunt each other?

He is like the coward driver flipping you off because he knows you really can’t do anything about it and even if you could, most people are civil and wouldn’t. It would be the best thing that ever happened to him if someone would have their fill and put him on the ground. Maybe he would shape up and realize what a little turd he is being. The tragedy of it all is that he really is a good basketball player, but every time he acts crazy another GM probably writes him off as a head case.

I would love to root for Ole Miss. They are an underdog. They are in the SEC. They made a great comeback in the SEC tournament. Ole Miss is not Kentucky or Duke they need the support. Unfortunately because of Henderson I even….Rooted for Florida in the championship game and I am not alone. One of these day he is gonna get a broken nose. People will only take so much
