Finally Friday, folks. But when it comes to our thought/lyric of the day… there still ain’t no love in the heart of the city.
Some of you might know this rap re-make from Jay-Z and the 2007 movie “American Gangster.” Uh. Uh. Yeah, that one’s on the MrSEC.com iPod, too.
But the original song comes from Bobby “Blue” Bland back in 1974. Everyone from the Allman Brothers to Crystal Gayle to Whitesnake to the aforementioned Mr. Z has recorded it since. But for the uninitiated? Best to make like a rap star and sample the original.
“When you were mine, oh, I was feeling so good. ‘Cause you lovelied up this whole neighborhood.”
Uh. Uh.
