Mike Slive announced today that in addition to the SEC Network’s plan to begin broadcasting three football games per Saturday next season, the channel will also produce a weekly, two-hour, live pre-game show to air prior to said tripleheader.
Slive said the program will be broadcast live from a different SEC campus each week and that it will focus not just on game previews but also on league members’ many different football traditions. In other words, next year ESPN will be producing “College GameDay” for its national viewers as well as an SEC-specific type of “GameDay” program for viewers of its new SEC Network.
(Slive said negotiations to carry the network are ongoing with cable and satellite providers. AT&T U-verse remains the new network’s only partner at this time.)
