2ND ROUND, PICK 58 – JOE CRAWFORD (LOS ANGELES LAKERS)

OUR TAKE: This was a big surprise. As Jamont Gordon continued to fall, it was another SEC guard who slid into one of the last three slots of the night. Crawford had fallen off nearly every mock draft board in recent weeks. Apparently the Lakers don’t pay much attention to the mock drafters of the world.
The Lexington Herald-Leader brings you the nuts and bolts of Crawford’s selection.
John Clay of the Herald-Leader is obviously a fan of Crawford’s sticktoitiveness, but he thinks it’ll be a tough path for the former Wildcat, landing on the second best team in the league. (Then again, watching the finals, did LA even have any other players on the floor with Kobe?)
Rick Bozich of The Louisville Courier-Journal believes that Crawford will achieve more than most analysts predict. Rajon Rondo, anyone?
