A Little Music To Start Your Day?

In his time in Knoxville, Bruce Pearl has done everything from paint his chest orange in support of the Lady Vols to turn around a program that was once one of the doormats of the SEC.
He’s bear-hugged Erin Andrews and he’s become a regular on ESPN’s “Pardon The Interruption.”
For his next act, Pearl took to the stage during last night’s “Volscars” celebration — an ESPY-style award ceremony for University of Tennessee athletes.
His rap act and outfit are sure to earn him even more screentime on ESPN.
The Pros: Pearl shows once more that he’s not afraid to let his hair down. Most of the UT fanbase loves this stuff. It could help with recruiting if players see a guy they can relate to and have fun with.
The Cons: It gives fodder to opposing fanbases wishing to mock UT’s coach. Some rivals could use this as a negative recruiting tool — “you want to play for someone who’ll get more spotlight than you will?”
My take: Come on, it’s fun. The guy’s a showman. If Nick Saban or Urban Meyer did something like this it would be hysterical.
Heck, it’s better than accusing a rival coach of cheating… only to get reprimanded for it, isn’t it?
It’s better than getting into a late night dust-up with a cabbie, isn’t it?
