A few random notes before we get to the Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn team reports:
Tony Barnhart of The AJC covers Georgia, LSU and Auburn in his latest blog post.
Jim Kleinpeter of The New Orleans Times-Picayune provides his latest SEC power rankings.
ESPN.com’s Ivan Maisel asks if being a “good fit” really has anything to do with coaching success… or do wins simply make a coach a good fit?
One AP Top 25 voter cast a ballot for Alabama as #1. And he’s from Cleveland?
ESPN.com’s Chris Low then focuses on Tennessee where:
* UT’s interim president admitted that UCLA is a better academic institution.
* UT linebacker Rico McCoy says the Tennessee-Florida game is “still going to be played.”
* And Lane Kiffin fired a little recruiting barb in the direction of the Gators.
Finally, Stewart Mandel’s mailbag at SI.com is also orange-hued this week. He’s asked if last week’s flop by the Volunteers against UCLA vindicates Phillip Fulmer and Dave Clawson.
