Not much coming out of Tuscaloosa during this open date week, but here’s what we’ve found:
Don’t be shocked if defensive tackle Terrence Cody is used again on offense, as an enormous blocker in goal line situations.
Center Antoine Caldwell and left tackle Andre Smith have drawn heavy praise from a former Tide All-American center… Mississippi State’s Sylvester Croom. Croom thinks they “rank right up there with the best Alabama has ever had.” That’s saying something.
Tide punter PJ Fitzgerald has gained in confidence, and it’s showed in his 42-yards-per-punt average… up from 38 yards-per-punt during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Defensive end Bobby Greenwood is one of just nine scholarship seniors on Alabama’s roster. According to Nick Saban, he’s made the most of his final season.
