As Alabama rests up for next weekend’s Auburn game, here are the stories that are making headlines in the Heart of Dixie:
Offensive coordinator Jim McElwain has quietly turned the Tide’s offense in a short yardage, clock-grinding, punch-you-in-the-mouth machine.
Senior receiver Will Oakley tore up his shoulder/collarbone in a fall down a flight of stairs. (???) Having had surgery on the injury, it’s questionable whether or not he can recover in time for Bama’s bowl game.
From a Punt, Pass and Kick star to the University of Alabama. That was the path for Tide punter PJ Fitzgerald.
Nick Saban is in favor of a four-team playoff.
Finally, here are the game notes for Bama’s open date. Game notes for an open date?
