Nick Saban knows this weekend’s Top 10 match-up between Alabama and Georgia is important not just for this year, but for the future. Alabama has gotten six players from Atlanta in the last two recruiting classes.
“We’re recruiting Atlanta because it’s three hours away and they’ve got a lot of great football players and a lot of good football programs.”
Glen Coffee is fast. He’s powerful. And he’s the tailback the Tide counts on to get tough yards and control the clock. “(Coffee) has a lot of very, very good cuts, and the plays that we run compliment his style. He’s shown a burst and some accelerations and an ability to get through and make some secondary people miss for longer runs.”
Coffee gives the credit to his offensive line. “It is great running behind them. They are definitely the best line in the SEC and one of the best — if not the best — in the country. So I am blessed to be able to run behind them. They make it so easy out there.”
Talk about saying the right things.
And finally, why is Georgia breaking out the black jerseys for Saturday’s showdown with Alabama? Because they know that this September game is extremely important.
