ARE TODAY’S SEC FOOTBALL COACHES THE BEST EVER?

There’s no question the coaches in the SEC today are the most well-paid bunch in the history of the league, but are they the best collection the league has ever seen?
Jon Soloman of The Birmingham News runs through all of the current coaches’ accomplishments as he mulls over the above question.
His paper also provides a thumbnail sketch for each coach in the conference, including the all important “what have you done lately” category.
Meanwhile, Tommy Deas of The Tuscaloosa News compares the current crop of coaches to the 10-man group that ruled the SEC in the 1970s… a group that included five hall of famers (Bear Bryant, Shug Jordan, Vince Dooley, Charlie McClendon and Doug Dickey).
