1. The first half of the season has provided Arkansas with some confidence for their stretch run.
2. Tailback Michael Smith is showing signs of improvement, but his hamstring still makes him a gametime decision tomorrow versus Ole Miss.
3. More will be known about the status of receiver Joe Adams — who is trying to return from a small stroke — when he meets with medical experts next week.
4. Bobby Petrino was reprimanded for comments he made about officials on his televised coach’s show. “When they hit you when you’re on the white, it’s supposed to be a late hit, a 15-yard penalty. Unfortunately, in Florida, they don’t call it that way.”
5. In basketball news, John Pelphrey was asked if all the problems his program has faced in the past year have left him feeling cursed. “I was a 6-foot-7 red-headed kid that was about 172 pounds that went to college and had a chance to play and compete and got his jersey retired at Kentucky, won the Mr. Basketball award, had a chance to coach with Billy Donovan and play for Rick Pitino and now I get a chance to coach Arkansas. I would say that I am pretty lucky.”
6. The Razorbacks will get a fresh start with their annual Red-White Game scrimmage tonight.
