1. Arkansas coaches are going to allow Brandon Mitchell to play basketball for John Pelphrey, but they also called him a “quarterback for the future.”
2. The Petrino brothers both have high praise for Steve Spurrier and his offensive mind.
3. According to this notes column, Razorback players apparently learned last week just how serious Bobby Petrino is about starting the guys who work the hardest in practice.
4. The effort-based grading system also looks like it’s in place to stay.
5. This writer believes that empty seats at last week’s game send a clear message: the South Carolina game “is a must-win game” for Petrino. (He also writes that it’s inevitable that defensive coordinator Willy Robinson will be fired at year’s end.)
