Arkansas Suspends Courtney Fortson

Talk about your tailspins. Arkansas has indefinitely suspended point guard Courtney Fortson with no specific reason given.
“At Arkansas we deserve a disciplined program with the players and coaches we have had,” John Pelphrey said. “Certainly I am not perfect and the players are not perfect, but I will always give my best.
“This was not an isolated incident. He will not practice today. I make mistakes. Players make mistakes. We need to be reminded what is important.”
When Arkansas was getting off to such a hot start and pulling off upsets of Texas and Oklahoma, the freshman Fortson was the talk of the league.
But his play dipped when league play began and the Razorbacks have been horrible overall.
This suspension just adds insult to injury.
Depending on the violation… and assuming this was not a major incident… Pelphrey deserves credit for setting a disciplined tone for his extremely young team.
Fortson was averaging 14.6 points and 6.5 assists per game.
