AUBURN FOOTBALL NEWS – 11/6/08

We told you that coaching searches get top priority.  Well, coaching hot seats get “double secret” top priority.  In other words, expect us to start each morning with Tennessee and Auburn news for a few more days.

Here’s the Auburn stuff for today:

Auburn’s board of trustees has a regularly scheduled meeting this week and there’s nothing very interesting on the “official” docket.  But Charles Goldberg of The Birmingham News believes Tommy Tuberville’s situation might just pop up in an unofficial capacity.

Normally, when coaches say that a team like Tennessee-Martin is going to be tough, you snicker and tune out the coach-speak.  But when it’s the coach of a team that’s struggling as much as Auburn is… it might be wise to listen.

Quarterback Kodi Burns is getting support from his coaches and his teammates.  Now if he’ll just stop throwing interceptions.

When freshman cornerback D’Antoine Hood has a question about his play, he calls his cousin, Arizona Cardinal corner Roderick Hood.

Offensive tackle Lee Ziemba backs up what Tuberville one day prior: “We’re not tough enough right now.  Running the football, we’re not where we were last year.  It ain’t the want-to.  We want to, we’ve just got to get it done.  We’ve just got go stop talking about it and do it.”

“Tuff Enuff.”  Man, that’s still a great song.  But why the heck are the Batemen kids introducing this video?  And wouldn’t it be cool if Nick Saban coached just one game in the lead singer’s outfit?

And finally, here are the game notes for Saturday afternoon’s contest.
