Paul Finebaum recently asked Auburn’s new offensive coordinator Tony Franklin what he thought about Nick Saban’s decision to muzzle his assistant coaches.
Franklin said that his forefathers had fought for his right to speak freely.
Finebaum wrote it. Alabama fans got mad about it.
And now Jay G. Tate of The Montgomery Advertiser relates what Franklin thinks of Bama fans being upset:
“So what? I really wouldn’t take a job somewhere like that. I don’t need the job that badly. If Tommy (Tuberville) came in here today and told me to not talk with you all, I would stop. That’s different. I already work here. I just don’t see the point. What we’re doing here isn’t rocket science. We coach football.”
