Florida guard Nick Calathes is now in an elite group of P.T.Pers (sorry, couldn't resist) vying for the John R. Wooden Award given to the national player of the year. This is a top-30 list .With the season the Greek Chocolate is having, he belongs on a top-15 list.
How's this for a nightly stat line — 18.1 points, 6.4 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 steals per game. He does everything but sell popcorn in the O'Connell Center. You won't find many NCAA players with that sort of versatile resume. Calathes in the nation's No. 9 assist guy, and he's on pace to become Florida's fastest 1,000-point scorer (currently at 969 points) in nearly 25 years.
