Here’s what’s making headlines in Columbia this morning:
Coming off a brutal beatdown at the hands (and feet) of jackrabbit fast Florida, the Gamecocks are now preparing to face another fast team in cross-state rival Clemson.
Steve Spurrier plans to go back to being a nurturing, supportive coach with Chris Smelley this weekend. Yep. We’ll believe that when we see it.
Linebacker Jasper Brinkley views this weekend’s game through the hate-colored lenses of a true rival. “If we win, I’d be satisfied because it’s going to do both… it’ll knock them out of the bowl and possibly help us get a better bowl.”
Neil White of The State provides “the most interesting things” about the Clemson-Carolina rivalry in this piece. Good time-killer.
And finally, despite USC’s decision to go to a seal license plan for Williams-Brice Stadium next year, season tickets have moved pretty well.
