Georgia fans have to be concerned about the recruiting impact from the Bulldogs’ disappointing 2009 season.
Schools are using Georgia’s struggles against the Bulldogs in recruiting.
Defensive end T.J. Stripling from Southwest Dekalb High School in Decatur, Ga., is one prospect schools would love to sway from Georgia.
A recent rumor had Stripling switching his pledge from Georgia to Georgia Tech. Stripling says that won’t happen.
“Nah, I’m still Georgia,” he told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Stripling explained what started the rumor.
“Georgia Tech coaches came to the school last Friday and offered me (a scholarship),” Stripling said. “They said they wanted me to come down there Saturday and I told them I’d try but that I was committed to go to the Tennessee Tech game up at Georgia and that’s what I did. I guess it just got blown up from there.”
Stripling said he is considering taking trips to Florida, Tennessee, Ohio State or Miami, but he won’t be changing his mind.
“Oh, no, there’s no way,” he told the AJC. “I’m still solid.”
