ESPN’S “BREAKING NEWS” REPORTED HERE TWO DAYS AGO

ESPN is now reporting “Breaking News” that Lane Kiffin will be named the new head football coach at the University of Tennessee.
We at MrSEC.com congratulate ESPN on breaking this news exactly 50 hours and 58 minutes after MrSEC posted the story.
Their story by Chris Low is carbon-dated at 2:35 on November 28th. Chris Low is a SOLID reporter. I mean SOLID. The guy is good. Really good. Lot of respect for him.
But our story was posted on Wednesday, Novemer 26th at 11:37.
Pretty sure that means that our story broke the news just a tad (and by “tad” we mean two days) earlier than ESPN.
ESPN’s policy is this: “someone else may break the news, but when one of our guys confirms it, THEN it’s breaking news.”
Ask FoxSports’ Jay Glazer how many times John Clayton or Chris Mortensen has “broken” a story he reported an hour, or even days, earlier.
This afternoon’s “Breaking News” crawl on ESPN means one thing to us here at MrSEC: We nailed it two days ago.
Kiffin to coach Tennessee. Period.
If you want THE NEWS from around the SEC… you’ll turn to MrSEC first!
And we all thank YOU for doing so,
John Pennington
