Gators offense doesn’t mind looking like Oklahoma

Florida

College football coaches trade secrets. They have since the beginning of time, back when cavemen were drawing up end-arounds. But I found interesting how Florida went about implementing the new no-huddle "Banzai" package that was basically lifted straight from Oklahoma.

Florida liked their offense, watched the game film, quizzed their own defensive coaches and made it happen. No call to Bob Stoops was placed. That would have happened five years ago. Not now.

Coach Urban Meyer doesn't need permission from Oklahoma to run their offense, he says, even if the Sooners might not be too happy about it. Read the story link above for more on the Florida-Oklahoma swap as well as a look at how coaches lift specific plays from opponents' game tape like it's nothing.

"People don't want to share with us, and we're not really excited about
sharing anymore," Meyer said. "Oklahoma's got a little niche right now, and they're
not really excited about giving it to Florida."
