GEORGIA FOOTBALL NOTES – 8/27/08 (RICHT CONCERNED ABOUT O-LINE)
August 27th, 2008 ║ Posted By: John Pennington ║ Permalink ║ Tags: Georgia
Do injuries and inexperience along the offensive line worry Mark Richt? “That’s a huge concern. A huge concern, yes.” Know why? All five players will be starting at their respective positions for the first time in their careers and four of the players have never started a college game at any position.
In this notes column it’s revealed that Caleb King is listed as the number two tailback behind Knowshon Moreno… ahead of true freshman Richard Samuel.
Moreno can stop worrying about returning punts for the time being, but Richt says he’ll probably field some punts before the season is over.
Everyone wants to get a look at true freshman AJ Green, but it’s junior receiver Kris Durham who’ll be starting opposite Mohamed Massaquoi.
Marc Weiszer of The Athens Banner-Herald makes his predictions for which of the Dawgs’ 21-man freshman class will get some playing time in 2008.
Is Georgia’s offense ready to pick up where it left off in the back half of 2007?
