Defensive coordinator Willie Martinez wants his defense to force more turnovers in 2009 after recording just 16 takeaways all last year.
This notes column reveals that the deck was stacked against Joe Cox and the starters in yesterday’s mini-scrimmage… but UGA’s new QB led his team to victory anyway.
Mark Richt still wasn’t pleased. “Overall, my feeling was we weren’t quite ready to beat Oklahoma State. I’m glad we have 10 more days to prepare.”
So what did Cox take from the scrimmage? “I don’t really know what to take from it.” Okay.
Georgia’s media guide mistakenly lists last year’s game with Georgia Tech as a 42-42 tie, not a 45-42 loss. (They’re called typos, they happen.)
