Hutson Mason has been putting up big numbers in high school for the last two. Now, a few schools in BCS conferences think he can do the same for them.
Mason, a quarterback from Lassiter High School in Marietta, Ga., threw for 530 yards and eight touchdowns in Lassiter’s second-round playoff win over South Gwinnett last Friday.
Virginia assistant coach Bob Price was in attendance and told Mason afterward he can play for Virginia.
“He goes, ‘there’s absolutely no doubt you can play for us. That’s 100 percent,’” Mason recounted.
Kentucky assistant coach Joker Phillips also attended last Friday’s game. Mason has also received interest from Mississippi State and Florida State.
