HOGS’ BEVERLY, MSU’S VARNADO KNOCK OFF LEBRON IN PICK-UP GAMES

Patrick Beverly of Arkansas and Jarvis Varnado of Mississippi State are two of about 20 college players taking part in this year’s LeBron James Skills Academy in Akron.
Some of the college stars in attendance got to go head-to-head with King James (and point guard Chris Paul) in a series of pick-up games.
Beverly and Varnado’s team went 2-2 against the NBA’ers.
“It was fun, but at the end of the day, they’re just human,” said Beverly. “But it was a great experience playing against these guys that you see on TV.”
