Kiffin Dismisses Two Vols

Receiver EJ Abrams-Ward and offensive lineman Ramone Johnson have been dismissed from the Tennessee football team for “disciplinary reasons.”
Abrams-Ward redshirted last season, while Johnson played in six games. Johnson was suspended during the season for a lack of academic effort and a violation of team rules.
New Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin, according to sources, is running a much tighter ship than his predecessor Phillip Fulmer.
On at least one occasion, Kiffin has made the rounds on campus to personally check to see that his players were in their classes.
According to a MrSEC.com source, Tennessee players are being forced to do extra running not only when they miss class, but also when they miss so much as a study hall.
The family feel in the UT football department is gone, replaced by a business-like approach.
Perhaps that’s just what was needed.
