Notes from Les Miles’ teleconference:
* “The team has come to work this week. They are beyond the game last Saturday with Ole Miss. Practices have been fast-paced.”
* Ryan Mallett “is a tremendous player. They throw the ball down the field.” Arkansas’ defense is “playing better.”
* Asked about recruiting, Miles said recruits have fewer questions these days. Miles communicates and visits with players even after they have committed. Miles says you’ll continue to see “last-minute change-of-hearts” until there’s an early signing date.
* Miles said he’s “motivated daily” by his team and his coaches.
* With 24 seniors and the possibility of a 10-win season still on the table, Miles said his team is “gonna come to Tiger Stadium and lay it on the line.”
* Stevan Ridley will get the majority of snaps at tailback. They are considering taking the redshirt off of freshman tailback Michael Ford.
* Miles said that Arkansas has a very talented receiving corps. In particular, Miles said that the Tigers will keep an eye on Greg Childs who has a penchant for catching Mallett’s deep balls.
* LSU might use more of the wildcat package with Russell Shepard this week.
