Here are today’s headlines from Starkville:
Sylvester Croom knows how big the Egg Bowl is. “Rivarly games change perspectives. In this business now, what IS is not important. What APPEARS is more important than what is.”
Senior safety Derek Pegues, who was suspended for State’s season-opening loss at Louisiana Tech, wonders if he’d played whether the game and the whole season might have played out differently.
And for the record, is it any wonder that you have one thought in your mind when you hear the words “Iron Bowl” and then completely different kind of image when you hear the words “Egg Bowl.” Time to change the trophy to a golden anvil or something. “Egg Bowl” just doesn’t tough enough.
