MSU Headlines – 11/23/09
November 23rd, 2009 ║ Posted By: John Pennington ║ Permalink ║ Tags: Mississippi State
1. Dan Mullen says he’s “real excited” for his first Egg Bowl against “that school up north.” (I find a coach’s refusal to say a rival school’s name — or in Les Miles’ case his refusal to say Nick Saban’s name — to be pretty juvenile.)
2. Mullen says folks shouldn’t read anything into the fact that Chris Relf went the whole second half at quarterback for the Bulldogs on Saturday.
3. MSU is pushing Anthony Dixon for the Conerly Trophy which goes to the Magnolia State’s best player each fall.
4. A series of concussions will probably end the playing career of safety Zach Smith.
5. In basketball news, ESPN covered the Renardo Sidney situation on “Outside the Lines” on Sunday, but there wasn’t much new information in the report.
