MSU Headlines – 11/24/09

1. Dan Mullen praised former Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron for recruiting “NFL talent” to Oxford. He did not mention Houston Nutt’s name once during his presser. (He also zipped by a question about whether or not he was using UM’s KKK rally to negatively recruit against the Rebels.)
2. MSU’s coach also touted State’s “family atmosphere” for football games, which no doubt was a jab at the Klan rally in Oxford.
3. Though Mullen didn’t live through it, he’s providing his team with a daily reminder of last year’s 45-0 loss to Ole Miss.
4. MSU has a new practice and weightlifting schedule for Egg Bowl week. “We changed a bunch of things this week because it’s obviously a rivalry game.”
5. In basketball news, State will host Texas-Pan American tonight… and so far the Dogs are playing down to the level of their competition.
6. Tonight Kodi Augustus will come off his two-game suspension for criticizing his coaches.
7. Not surprisingly, Renardo Sidney cannot travel with the team until he is cleared by the NCAA.
