OLE MISS FOOTBALL NEWS – 11/17/08

Ole Miss joined Vanderbilt in achieving bowl eligibility over the weekend.  Now the Rebels look toward LSU and a potential season-making victory:

Here’s a quick preview of Saturday afternoon’s game.

Kyle Veazey of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger writes that there are several similarities between UM and LSU.  Both teams have solid running games, solid defensive fronts, and underachieving secondaries, for example.

As for State’s 59-0 win over Louisiana-Monroe…

Dexter McCluster rushed for 78 yards a touchdown on just seven carries against the Warhawks.  “I’ve always been comfortable at running back.  My whole life, that’s been my dream, to be a running back at the college level.  Lots of people doubted.  Said I was too small.”

Defensive end Greg Hardy was back on the field for the Rebs on Saturday.  He made his presence known with a sack and an interception.
