Here’s the Oxford news for Thursday morning:
According to this notes column, Gerald Harris and Bradley Sowell look to be the guys to replace tight end David Traxler, who is likely out for the season with a bad back.
Mike Wallace has been explosive on kickoff returns this year, averaging 25.9 yards per return. He credits the guys in front of him. “We’ve had a great wedge all season long giving me great holes to run through.” Nothing beats a great wedge.
Houston Nutt has reminded his 5-4 Rebels that they still have a bowl berth on the table. “I told them we’ve got something to play for. There’s people coming to watch you. (Fullback) Jason Cook made the statement: We’ve never had this opportunity before where November was important, where there was something to play for. There was a real buzz amongst the players about how important (the Auburn) game was.”
