1. So much for a special season in Oxford. After Saturday’s disappointing loss to Auburn, the Rebels now focus on Northern Arizona. Yawn. (Actually, if it’s NOT a yawn, folks in the Magnolia State will really get upset.)
2. Ole Miss’ defense — which had been playing well — got socked in the mouth by the Tigers.
3. Gene Chizik is appreciative of Mississippi running back Rodney Scott, who lay motionless under AU safety Zac Etheridge until the Tiger’s head and neck could be stabilized. “I’ve got to give that young man a lot of credit. I don’t know how he knew, but he knew not to move. He sat as still as the night right underneath him. It was one of the most phenomenal things I’ve witnessed.”
4. The Rebels rank 9th in the SEC in passing efficiency. And to think… I got emails from angry UM fans over the summer for saying that Jevan Snead couldn’t win the Heisman.
5. In basketball news, here’s a profile of DeAundre Cranston… and here’s another of Murphy Holloway.
