PELPHREY GETS A RAISE; HOGS TO HOST A DECEMBER TOURNEY

In the world of college coaching salaries these day, this isn’t a whole lot to speak of, but Arkansas coach John Pelphrey has been awarded a $45,000 a year raise.
He’s also had his deal extended by one season through 2013, so that helps.
Pelphrey’s salary will jump (hop) from $750,000 to $795,000.
The Razorbacks went 23-12 last year and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
This coming season, Pelphrey’s Hogs will host the Jim Thorpe Classic in mid-December.
Wasn’t Jim Thorpe famous as a football player?
