Three SEC football coaches made news with their mouths yesterday… and no, Lane Kiffin was not one of them.
LSU’s Les Miles accepted the blame for Saturday’s horrible finish in Oxford. “I mismanaged the back end of the Ole Miss game. I’m responsible. I’m the head coach.”
Florida’s Urban Meyer tried to make it crystal clear that he won’t be heading to Notre Dame. “I’m ready to dispel it. I’m going to be the coach at Florida as long as they’ll have me. So I want to make that clear.”
And Kentucky’s Rich Brooks grew angry at talk that he might retire at season’s end. “You know what? I’m not going to answer anything about that anymore. I’m going to talk about Tennessee. None of that junk. This is not the appropriate forum. We have a huge game with a lot at stake, and we’ll address those issues at the appropriate time.”
