SEC Commitment Comparison – 12/21/09

It’s time for our weekly look at the SEC’s commitment list in football.  And the current list probably won’t have much movement for a couple of weeks.

We use Rivals.com’s star system to compile our list.  Each star is equal to a point on our board.  We also get generous and give even 0-star prospects a point.  No one’s completely worthless.

The list also includes juco signees at this point.

So, without further ado, here’s how things will probably be standing when coaches dive back into the recruiting process or the stretch drive in January:

In terms of big movers and shakers for the week (following juco signings, new commitments and de-commitments):

* Auburn jumped 11 points all the way to the top of our chart.

* Kentucky bounced up 8 points.

* Mississippi State added 5 points.

* Florida, Ole Miss and South Carolina added 3 points each.

* Vanderbilt dropped 2 points and fell from 7th place into a tie for 8th.

* And Tennessee lost 6 points and dropped from a 2nd place tie down to the 4th place on our Big Board.

So how did this week’s comings and goings affect the overall talent-level for each school’s class?  Here’s the average point value for each team’s commitments/signees so far… as compared to last week’s average:
