SEC Commitment Comparison – 9/21/09

Each Monday we put together a commitment comparison for you recruitniks out there.  We use Rivals.com’s star rankings.  And we count all 1- or 0-star prospects as being worth at least one point in our standings.

‘Cause nobody’s completely worthless.  (Regardless of what so many of you call me in emails.)

This week, five teams saw some movement.  Tennessee, Vandy, Kentucky and Arkansas went up.

Florida lost four points when a four-star prospect that they’d backed off on decommitted.

Without further ado, here are this week’s standings:

Let’s take the total number of commitments out of the mix for a second and just examine the caliber of athlete each school is currently lining up.  I say currently because it’s a long, long way to February.

Below are the average star-values of each school’s class (with 0-stars counting, again, as one point each):

1.  Florida — 3.80
2.  LSU — 3.59
3.  Tennessee — 3.57
4.  Georgia — 3.50
5.  Alabama — 3.47
6.  Ole Miss — 3.20
7.  Auburn — 3.12
8.  S. Carolina — 2.88
9.  Vanderbilt — 2.85
10.  Miss. State — 2.80
11.  Arkansas — 2.70
12.  Kentucky — 2.22
