1.  Former Vandy football player Mike MacIntyre’s first game as the head coach at San Jose State will come against… Alabama.

2.  Tennessee freshman tailback Bryce Brown says his first season was “Better early than late.”

3.  UT football players turned in their best academic performance since 2005 and will have all hands on deck for the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

4.  Bruce Pearl hopes his team can turn the page from Saturday’s 77-55 loss at Southern Cal when they face North Carolina A&T tonight.

5.  Pearl also says that he has “not been able to get (his team) to train.” 

6.  Columbia’s The State ranks linebacker Eric Norwood as the best Gamecock football player of the past decade.

7.  There were some pretty good players on Carolina’s All-Decade team, too.

8.  Steve Spurrier believes his team earned its highest GPA since his arrival five years ago.

9.  Spurrier’s son Scott will begin his own coaching career at a Columbia High School.

23.  At least he’s happy with his team’s attitude heading into Christmas break.

24.  And finally, Mike Strange of The Knoxville News Sentinel lays out just how far each SEC team is from 2,000 wins (Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are the only schools over the 1,400 mark) and predicts that another league school won’t match Kentucky’s feat until the year 2030.
