Throughout the minutiae of football-related blogs and analysis and news, it’s always fun to peel back the plastic and show what makes an athlete human. I got that opportunity with the Pouncey twins, who have been playing inspired football since their father, Rob Webster, lost his leg in a feeding-mill accident. If you have a couple of minutes, CHECK OUT THE STORY HERE. Even better might be the POUNCEY FAMILY PHOTO GALLERY that accompanies the story, including archives of the twins with Rob as youngsters playing pee wee football and catching fish. Great stuff.
With the offensive line serving as a huge aspect of this game, it should be comforting to Gators fans that starting interior lineman Maurkice and Mike Pouncey have been playing downright angry in the quest to fulfill a promise to Rob…that they’d bring him a national title. The admiration for the man they call Superman is unmeasurable.
