UPDATE (10:50 p.m.): Arkansas will host the winner of Oklahoma State or Texas-Arlington in the second round of the WNIT on Monday. A game time will be announced tomorrow. OSU and UT-A will play Saturday in Stillwater, Okla., in the first round.

Here’s a PDF of the bracket if you want to check it out.

ORIGINAL POST (8:32 p.m.): The Razorbacks are waiting by the phones to find out who their opponent will be, but it’s official: Arkansas will be in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament.

Arkansas (17-13) earned an automatic bid this afternoon after the NCAA Selection Committee picked seven teams from the SEC to partake in the NCAA Tournament. Arkansas finished eighth in the conference standings.

The WNIT bracket and matchups are expected to be announced sometime before 11 p.m.

Sixteen of the 48 teams in the WNIT receive first-round byes in the tournament. Arkansas could be one of those teams. The first round begins Wednesday and ends Friday. Second round games begin Saturday. All games are hosted at school sites.

UPDATE (9:30 p.m.): Still waiting on who Arkansas will face in the first or second round, but coach Tom Collen released a statement a few minutes ago through UA media relations.

“We are excited that we have the opportunity to continue our season and represent the University of Arkansas,” Collen said early Monday evening. “We have a young team that wants to keep playing and prove that road wins at Georgia, Mississippi State and Florida were not a fluke.”
